Despite some evidence that the housing market is starting to cool, rents in the South of England still appear to be rising. "On an annual basis, the South West saw the largest annual rise, increasing by 4.1% to hit an average of £702, according to the latest figures released by Your Move" - reports Mortgage Solutions.
And with a new tax regime starting for private landlords, many fear that this will lead to further increases in rent as they look to protect their margins.
